My name is Jordan. Nice to meet you!

I am an independent content creator living in Arkansas. This is my website about achieving.

By most professional standards, I have been pretty successful.

I graduated from high school with straight A’s and earned a full ride to college. At university, I completed five internships, managed a daily online newspaper, graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and landed a management position at a publicly traded company the week after leaving school.

Since then, I’ve worked at many different companies and learned valuable skills. I’ve studied journalism, technical writing, videography, photography, graphic design, web design, and digital marketing. I’ve been promoted to leadership roles and even dabbled in entrepreneurship.

I mention these accomplishments not to impress you, but to emphasize a lesson I’ve learned.

Achievement is a poor substitute for authenticity.

I’ve been miserable most of my career.

Looking back, it’s obvious why. I was achieving for all the wrong reasons.

Maybe you can relate.

Fueling a high-octane work ethic with low-grade approval from other people. Being afraid of slowing down, even when I was exhausted. Running away from past insecurities instead of genuinely chasing a goal. Defining myself by my projects. Climbing “the ladder” only to find out the rungs led to someone’s else’s idea of success.

Don’t get me wrong. There were glimpses of genuine satisfaction, but they were fleeting.

So I started to pay closer attention.

I documented the types of work that felt truly meaningful. Clarified my values and began to say no to opportunities that didn’t line up. Narrowed my definition of what success actually looks like to me.

In short, I learned how to overcome inauthenticity in my career and, more broadly, my life.

Which brings me to today.

I use what I’ve learned to help other people be more authentic.

I want to be completely transparent: This blog is designed to help me reach potential clients. But to make that happen, I will give valuable tools away for free to many more people who will never hire me. Regardless of which group you’re a part of, I want to thank you for your attention and support.

I hope you enjoy this website about achieving authenticity.

And if you don’t, that’s okay too.

My days of measuring my work—and my worth—by other people’s standards are behind me.
